Neither, really.
I outrun both of 'em on a daily basis in all six gears!

I would say that it depends on the application.

the H22 obviously has more displacement so if your goal is to make the most power possible for straight line speed, than the H22a will have the best potential.
However it's bigger and heavier than the B18 so if you want a road racer that is light and well balanced, than the B18 is probably the better choice.

h22a is barely heavier.

Its the gearing that makes it a harder engine to rev. Its got great tq, but the trannies suck. Use a f22a tranny, and it works really well.

H22a's have gotten a lot cheaper lately, with k20a's taking over. B18c5's are still expensive, and IMO outdated tech.
