I have to write a report sort of thing, and it can be about whatever we want. I really want to do something about horses. The subject has to be pretty specific, so I was wondering what topic I should do? By the way, I don't know if this will help, but I ride quarter horses, um, Please and Thank You!!

Maybe do something like a report on how to care for horses, reading a horses body language, different tools and equiptment used in riding/horse care, differences among breeds? Does that help?

Do a report over the history of a horse breed! Appaloosas have a really cool history in how they were bred by the Nez Pierce indians, and then how the breed was taken from them and dispersed and the appys almost went extinct! the Quarter horse does't have much of a history to say about. Know one really knows what went into them, they just made the backbone of early america. The Stallions of Lipica are really cool, (lipizzaners!) an american general saved them during world war 1.

Maybe you could write about the different approaches trainers take to horses. a great book that could help you would be Groundwork Training for your horse by Lesley Bayley. It's just a list of all the trainers, and some information on their methods. It mostly discusses the natural horsemen and such.
Or you could write about the different breeds of horses and what they're suited for. You know, the different body types and what each is good for.
Pick something that you have to learn, not something you already know. It's a great chance to learn something.

Maybe you could do a report on HYPP (Hyperkalemic Periodic Paralysis) in Quarter Horses. I did a report on it once for an animal science class in high school.
