My nipples have been very flakey dry the last 3 days. Nothing is helping...does anyone know what causes this?

nipples are just skin. so if they are flaky, you just need to moisturize them with a heavy duty lotion, or oil. Try Baby Oil Gel.

hasen't winter ever caused you dry lips?
don't worry so much about such small things...
if it is too much dried & pains, apply petroleum jelly, and have more amount of wanter...
if nipples are cracked, you need medicine to heal it...

Any chance you're pregnant? That's always been a tell-tale (if odd) symptom of pregnancy for me.
