That's correct.
If she's 7w1d, then it's been 5w1d since conception, roughly.
Not all women ovulate 14 days after their period starts, some are earlier or later. Docotors use the last period because it's easier to pinpoint rather than ovulation.

Conception occurs about 2 weeks before the first missed period, or 2 weeks after the start of her last period. But that's for a girl with a regular 28-day cycle. However, the dates on the ultrasounds can be off by up to two weeks, they go by the size of the baby, they can't tell when conception actually was.

Exactly what the girl said, doctor's measure from the date of ovulation, or 2 weeks after her last period. You're absolutely right in saying she's only 5w 1d pregnant when the ultrasound says 7w 1d. I'm currently 35w 1d pregnant, but gestationally the baby is only 33w 1d pregnant. A full pregnancy lasts from the doctor's dates 40 weeks, and from gestaional age 38 weeks. I know it's confusing but if you just remember that the doctor measures from the last day of her period you'll be fine.
Here's a calculator to help.

Please note, not all women ovulate on day 14, which means that we can easily be off b a day here and there. Sperm can also live in the vagina for up to 5 days, which makes her fertile time a day before she ovulates up to 4 days after. Nothing is absolute... which is why you gotta stay covered up if you don't want a baby!

Doctors calculate the due date from the first day of a woman's last period. So the due date is caluculated essentially two weeks before you had sex and conception occured. So if she's 7 weeks and 1 day then actual conception was five weeks ago.

Look, the conception date given to your female friend is just an assumption on the part of the doctors. They have to assume since no one can really tell when she conceived.
I suggest you relax and get a paternity test done when the baby is born. Until then don't do/say anything you might regret.
Good luck.

yes they do go back 2 weeks. You usually will ovulate 10-14 days after your period but if you become pregnant they use the date of your last period. Were you with her only once? Why are you doubting her? Doe she get around? One night stand? Then you might want to think about a paternity test.

They count pregnancy by the the first day of your last missed period. So if you got pregnent on the 14th, missed a period on the 28th, they would start counting from the 28th not the 14th.
