I would say it all depends on what sort of paper it is...is it a research paper regarding the animal? or more of a social paper describing peoples emotions/feelings and fear towards spiders?

In either case, you can start off with a description of the animal...

"Spiders are predatory invertebrate animals with two body segments, eight legs, no chewing mouth parts and no wings."

From there...you can break off into a description about what your paper will be about...either research, or social...

for example...

"throughout history, these animals were thought to harbor evil, and often depicted as the a dark and poisonous creature that would ultimately bring a hero to his demise..."

Is this a scientific paper about spiders, a psychology paper about your worst fear, an English paper with the protagonist as a spider? If it's a paper about your worst fear, maybe you could describe an incident when you saw a spider. If you can remember what caused you to be afraid, that would be great.

Otherwise, you could just describe yourself in your bedroom, and suddenly you look over at the wall. Maybe it's a little crack in the wall -- you walk over, and you notice (describe the creature in horrific detail -- I love spiders so I won't try to tell you how to express this). You run from the room screaming. Your little brother laughs at you, then goes in and smacks it with your shoe. You can't wear that shoe ever again.

OK, well I had to do a project about spiders a few years ago and I began by quoting the nursery rhyme, Little Miss Muffett, because I did some research and learned that most little girls who fear spiders develop their fear from that one nursery rhyme. Just go from there

my teacher tought me hook lines and slug lines. a hook line is a line that starts the story to hook the readers attention. a slug like wants to knock out the reader(end). write something like: "Spiders are insulted everday because they are called insects. They actually called......."
Read some of the report to someone. Pause for a second. How do they look? Interested(they want to hear more) or bored(stop and think of how to change it. Hope you get an A++

well,if u just write bout them u dont hav why to b affraid of em...

the spiders are also called arachnids, that name comes from greek(arachne=spider)from the legend with arachne,a weaver's daughter, challenged goddess athena to a weaving competition.arachne lost the competitiona and, very ashamed, wanted to hang herself to die.but athena(angry because the girl *dared* challenge a goddess)thought that death wud be a too easy punishment,so athena didn't let arachne die,but converted her in a spider,so that she cud weave all the rest of her life.

thats all i know abt spiders...and btw,im affraid of spiders too...:)
