Am happy and thankful that i have never experienced one so for. Because ultimately it may end up in psychological disorders as well as the essence of life in its actual phase cannot be enjoyed.

Most of my premonitions come in dreams. I have had very personal ones where I kept seeing mutilated bodies when my eyes were both open and closed. Three days later, my friend was killed in a horrible motorcycle accident.

Also, for about a year I kept having dreams of being in a car accident. When I actually saw the car, I knew it was her and tried to take evasive action, but she still managed to find and hit me.

The wierdest one was one that didn't personally affect me. When I was in high school, I dreamed I was watching the news and there was a fire on the aircraft carrier Forrestal and 134 men were killed. It was in Vietnam. I didn't realize that it was a dream until I told some friends about it at school the next day. Their response was that the Forrestal was in port and leaving for Vietnam that day. Then a couple months later, it really happened. See link below.

Another really stupid one is that I remember hearing about and seeing the movie "Lucky Number Slevin" over 6 years ago. I didn't think it was that great (not my kind of movie). This has happened before and I don't know why I would have premonitions about such a silly thing, but I did. When it was released this past year, I thought it was a sequel! Boy, did I feel wierd in Blockbuster arguing with the lady.

This is just a sample of the random stuff I get. My question is why I get them if I can't do anything with the information.

I have experienced what may be described as precognition many times in the past. The episodes are typically nonspecific and involve a feeling of foreboding prior to some tragedy like a death or catastrophe.

I once saw a report on the news about an accidental death in a shooting range and knew exactly who had died and what had happened before any of that information was released.

I also envisioned the devastation of hurricane Hugo prior to it striking land.

A mother once went on television asking for fictitious kidnappers to return her children. I stated to my friends present that she was presenting a facade to hide something terrible that she had done -- and this turned out to be the case 2 weeks later.

I attribute all of this to "cold reading" as I don't really believe in psychic abilities in my old age.

I have premonitions all the time. Some people are very easy to read - just like a book, and the information I am seeing about them just sort of flows through me. It comes through me, but not FROM me.

For example, a good friend of mine was getting a little desperate about getting a roomate because of $$$. I "saw" in my mind a lovely young Asian woman. Well, guess who she got for a roomate?

So, sometimes I have dreams, about things before they happen. Most of the time, I get pictures of things - or just a feeling about something.

If something is "bad" for me - or is not going to turn out well, sometimes I just get a slight uncomfortable feeling about the issue, and l pay a lot of attention to those uncomfortable feelings now. Because I feel it is a gift that I have - and it is like a muscle that gets stronger each time you use it. (The intution - or whatever word(s) you want to call it.) I find that if I pay attention to these feelings ahead of time, I am able to save myself considerable discomfort in the future, because I have been warned ahead of time by the uncomfortable feeling(s) about an issue(s). EVERY TIME I IGNORE THE FEELINGS AND JUST GO WITH "LOGIC" I WOULD BE SORRY. I learned that I have those feelings/dreams/visions for a reason, and to simply use the gift without question. I know - - it sounds like a radical departure from all that is sane, normal, reasonable, etc.

However, IT WORKS. IT IS SIMPLY TRUE. FOR ME.

... I was going to town with my wife and when we came to a stop sign. She was driving. It was a very foggy morning. We stopped and looked into the fog. It "seemed" all rigjht to cross. I reached over and put my hand on her arm and said, "I feel funny. Don't proceed! I feel we need to be careful of something white. " She stopped the car dead. Seconds later a white car zoomed out of the fog. (Must have been a Mazda! lol! ) Anyway if I hadn't had this "feeling", I wouldn't be here today! I have these premomitions frequently... even predicting a pregnacy doctors said couldn't happen.
t ja said. Do not cross the road I feel funny.

This is a story told to me by my aunt, so it's not first hand. But during WWII when my father was driving an ambulance for the allies in France; his parents awoke in the middle of the night here in the states when the helmet he had sent them fell off the night stand. My grand father said it was a sign that something bad was going to happen to my dad. Sure enough, shortly after this my father's vehicle was bombed and my father was seriously injured.

This type of thing happens to me a lot, but one day I was driving to mcdonalds for lunch, and as i was driving, i was a scenario in my mind that when i got to the next light to turn left, i would look and see that the street was blocked off with yellow police tape and there was an accident and cops and people standing around. As soon as I got to that light to turn left, I saw the exact scenario that I saw in my mind, everything exactly detailed as in my vision. Weird. But it happens all the time.

I had several preminitions throughout my life.
One is my mom and I were driving down a one-way street, we say this extremely tall man. Everything went completely white the car and everything disappeared and I saw that tall man telling me what a pretty little lady I was. Six years later or so my preminition came true. He sat in a chair in front of me and told me that I was a pretty little lady just like in my preminition.
I have also had another, this time I was in school, this one was so strong that I was forced to grab a rail in order to stop my self from falling over. In that one I saw my own family rising against me - years later that is what they did - I have no contact with them as a result.
At times I get them in dreams. I dreamt once about two brothers, again I was in school; one had red hair and the other black. They were fighting over me - both had tastes in women as different as day and night. I remember looking around school for two brothers who had the same color of hair, didn't find any. Years later those two brothers came into my life, one had black hair and the other had red and as in my dream they fought over me, they also had completely different tastes in women.
This one happened while I was in tech school. I had this dream that I was going to beat up this girl real bad for only calling me a female dog in the impolite way. I beat her up so bad that for the longest time, I believe I busted it, she wouldn't be able to use her left arm, plus I did other numerous injuries to her - crushed her knee caps, chipped her collar bone and cracked a few ribs and left a whole mass of bumps, bruises and lacerations.
The last one was about a stray white and gray cat who needed help. Two weeks later the same cat came to us with her kitten - during our time we developed a very close relationship. We no longer have her, yet I will always remember Lucy and Chloe.

When I was a kid I suddenly thought about a particular old guy that I knew but hadn't seen for a couple of years. I was just going out of the door to school and I wondered why I thought of him at that moment.

Three days later they told me he had died.

Probably just a coincidence.

I am not sure what my experiences premonitions but I will share with you my occurences..

Firstly from the ages of a five or six I could sense danger or difficult situtuation. I was always one of the last to leave the play ground at lunch time at school. This particular day I was wandering rather slowly to my class room when some young men shook a bag at me - I thought it was lollies but something warned me to just run to my class room and I did.

I have alsways been able to pick up on whether a bad occurence has taken place at a house or medical centre. For example I was sitting in the waiting room of this medical centre but I had to leave - there was such a bad vibe and a little while later I found out two years ago there had been a shooting there.

I lived in this house and the two room at the back had burnt down years before - but the place had a really unsettling feeling and I later found out that some one had died there.

We always went on holidays at this particular river area. When we arrived my sister and I wanted to leave. Also other people who had been long term residents had left - when we finally left after my sister and I got upset at this one particular area - I found out sometime later (we had no access to papers or radio) that a lady had been hit with a tire cleaver and killed at that particular area which had caused us so much distress and that her husbad had got the boat and was looking for her- found her body and had a heart attack.

I have these feelings not to drive down certain roads only to have found out later there was a major car accident - in fact they occur so frequently its really hard to sift through them - I simply make decisions based on these feelings.

When I was 28 I had a very bad accident I rolled my 4 cylindar honda civic down this road twice. It was pretty awful and the paramedics thought I was dead but all I had was 9 multiply fractured ribs and a punctured lung - a lot better than being dead. Why I think I got off lightly considering I rolled a small car was the fact that I got some very specific instructions before the accident. These instructions included put 5 litres of petrol in the tank instead of filling up the tank that day. I am a creature of habbit and I always on pay day fill up the tank but I listened to this instruction even "arguing" but i felt that it would get me home and back to work in the morning and I could fill up tomorrow. THis feeling was felt rather than heard. I also went into the shop and was confronted with a pyramid of 5 litres of castrol motor oil and again instructed to buy it. Again I had this mini arguement - I am from the country I have oil and water in the boot why would I want to buy more oil?? But I did. And when I went to put the oil in the boot again "told" to put it in the passenger seat which I did. So when I went through a give away sign and all the windows smashed - the impact exploded my car oil container in the passenger seat and I was coated in oil. The car rolled twice but did not explode because there was not enough petrol in the tank. The doors buckled and all the contents was thrown around the car and fell out of the windows but I was safe coated in oil. What can I say I was "assisted" by unknown forces.

Alice Laughing says " Everytime she ignores these feelings she would be sorry" and I agree - there is a built in belief that if I ignore them there will be terrible consequences so I listen.

Sometimes I always dont get it right, sometimes I dont get warnings - like my friends husband killed himself and I just did not pick it up at all, and I am intune to these things and that is a great sense of disappointment to me. But I will keep listening to the inner voice because it helps. A policeman once said people should always listen to their inner voices or gut feelings. I tell my son to listen to his inner voice and go with his intutition, and people I know who do this with their children find their children make decisions based on gut feelings rarely get into trouble.

Also I disagree with sivresearch about the essence of life not being enjoyed - your essence of life is enhanced by not making silly mistakes that could cost you your life or some one elses. You probably do get these feelings but dont tune into them. As for psychological disorders - there is a big difference in a psychological disorder and a warning . People get warnings all the time and they just listen and its proven right. Like my sister with the bombings in 2005 in London. She was running late, she eventually got to the train station and suddenly had this idea to catch another train, which she did and missed the bombings by 10 minutes before the first bomb went off..........................
