Depends on what genre you're into. I'm into MMOs and simulators. After trying EVERY other MMO out there I prefer to play EverQuest (and have been playing for 5 years now). As for Simulators, I've played my fair share... no way near everything on the market, and I prefer Sims2 and various Tycoon games. Are you into first person shooters? Doom3 was especially grusome. RPGs? Neverwinter Nights 2 was just released and appears to be quite fun (I havent played it extensively though, so I can't give a rating for sure)

It depends on what type of game you like. However, one of my all time favorites is a "retro" game from (I believe) the early 90's called "Worms". It is a strategy game where you are given a team of worms equipped with an arsenal of vicious (and somewhat comical) weaponry and you take turns trying to wipe out the other team or teams.
Hours of fun...

Chrono Trigger on the ZSNES emulator. Its rated the number 1 game of all time by Gamespot and anyone who's played it has to agree. Its amazing.
