All they have to do is say no thanks.

I made this guy an offer for $1800 for a SUV he was selling that I don't think anybody else wants. he wanted $6000 for it. He actually took the time to call me back and cuss me out on the phone and hung up on me.

people are proud of their property. they have an expectation of what it's worth. It's insulting when you think it's worth less.

Of course sometimes their expectation is unrealistic! :)

Because people have high expectations of what they're selling. And then they reflect on how much they initally spend and want some in return!

Depends. If you know the offerer has $, yes. Many get rich by playing hardball, but to me it's an azzhole activity. Unless the offerer is poor.

Because if he wanted only 1800.00 dollars he would've already wholesaled it to a dealer.
You were stupid to make such a low offer and even dumber to have to come here and ask why the guy got pissed off.

I agree that he probably took it personally. But more than that, he was just a mean and hateful person. Just forget about him, don't waste your time thinking about idiots like him. Peace.

People who are not thinking, and who don't realize that THEY ARE NOT THEIR POSSESSIONS have not stopped to realize that a business deal is not a commentary on their personal worth.
