You need to attend mortuary school, pass your National and State Board exams and then serve an internship. Andno, you do not have to pass a psychological test, I have never even heard of that. If you go to www.mortuaryschools.com, it gives a complete listing of every mortuary school in the country. You job duties would include making removals from the place of death, making funeral arrangements, talking with families, embalming, dressing and casketing the deceased, filling out forms and paperwork and much, much more. Pay depends on where you live, different areas of the country pay more.

You have to get a degree in Mortuary Science, which gives you practical knowledge and experience in running a Mortuary as well as the clinical aspect of it.

You embalm and prepare the bodies as well as sell memorial services, caskets, and see to it that the funeral is taken care of with dignity of the deceased from beginning to end.

You also serve as a comfortor for the bereaved family members. The job requires a lot of sensitivity, tact, and common sense.

Many community colleges now offer the program for a few thousand dollars as opposed to going to a Mortuary School which would cost more.

You sound young. They're not called undertakers, the correct name is a mortician. Most states require licensing and there are schools and degrees and tests. It is a business and many people feel 'called' to this profession.
You need to do more research into this usually respectable field.
Y!A is not necessarily the best place for in-depth studies of this necessary and honorable profession.

Morticians have their own colleges. You need a degree. Try looking them up online and see what their requirements are. Do you look good in black suits?
