I was in that situation last week. I ended up having to breastfeed my daughter anyway because she refuses to take the bottle. Breastmilk is best because it has antibodies and will help protect your baby from the infection. For your sake drink plenty of fluids, clear non-caffeinated sodas are usually pretty easy on the stomach.

You may want to start mixing breast milk and formula. Just pump and do a 50/50 mixture. That way the baby will still be getting your milk, but you can supplement and releave some of the pressure on yourself. You can work your way up to complete formula. I nursed all three of my kids for six months. However, they were able to also take formula so that my husband and I could go on dates and such. It really does help your not have quite so much stress. I hope you start feeling better.

i would call the baby's doctor and ask him/her. you don't want to risk giving your baby the stomach flu. when my son was about 8 months old he got rotavirus( a common type of stomach virus ) and it was rough. he could eat anything until he was better which took about a week. he could only have pedialyte. it was horrible. plus if he gets to dehydrated he'll have to get an i.v.

You keep right on nursing. Your body will keep making milk as long as there is a demand for it.

Nursing will pass antibodies to what you have to your child.

Try taking small sips of liquid to keep yourself hydrated. Try Gatorade or eating ice chips.
