And when thens get tough, he wusses out. I also believe he is using Ron Rothstein as a patsy, as the long-time Miami (I'm in Portland, and are a Blazers fan; but an NBA aficioando); faithful will remember Rothstein leading them in losing seasons when they had Glen Rice and Rony Seikaly. Pat Riley has no true hard-character, just glitz.

I'm a BULLS Fan, but mad respect for Knicks from the Riley Era, and Riley didn't wuss out. The team wussed out on Riley. Riley gave you a Championship and John Starks can't hit wide open 3's. (aka Jordan Baseball ERA)
Miami wasn't the best team last year by far, and I don't think anyother coach would have won it. (maybe 2-3 coaches)
There will always be other coaches that could have won it; if they had that same team. That statement is dumb, every championship team has studs. Sorry, Shaq is an obstacle more than he's good. Shaq can sometimes be an obstacle for Opponenets and sometimes against Heat. Wade is the truth, but Wade can't hold down fort without the 300 lbs bunny.
Miami teams were built by Riley, so no matter what his name is attached. If Dallas handle sh-it better. They should won, same with Spurs, but they didn't and Miami stole it.
These dudes help win championships, but players will always be first. Detroit had 5 very good players, and a defense juggeranaut in Ben Wallace. they fired Larry the next year. There isn't any other team that would have fired a coach a year after winning it.
Players man, Coaches help bring the best out of them.
Pat Riley deserves that ring for getting the team together. Plus, Riley cracks a whip, that's why many players hate him, some need it that's why some love him. Some players are lazy. Shaq loves cause it reminds him of his Step-Daddy. LOL
Knicks needed it back then, and everyone turn on him except for Ewing, Anthony Mason, and the Van Gundys

Pat Riley is a bad coach because he leaves when his team struggles and when they are good he is alwayz around. he said he was limping and stuuf last year too when they won the championship so why didnt he get the surgery then. Because Pat Riley is a wuss who doesnt like to get beat. Im with you all the way on this one

I agree. I am a Knicks fan who has been against him since he wussed out in 95. Let's see, I think anybody could have coached the talent he has had......Johnson, Jabbar, O'Neil, Wade.... With the Knicks he was really tested and came up short in 94. Oh and I hate John Starks too.

Riley doesn't really have anything to prove when it comes to basketball. It's his ego that gets the best of him, maybe he is ailing, who knows. Could care less for him or the miami (c)heat. So yes, once again, you have my vote.
