I look at these stick thin models and i think; im not like that. and it gets me down because obviously being that skinny is good because they became models who are ment to be the most beautiful individuals from our societies and no i dont want to be a model its just that i've got hips and bum and none of the models look like this - some of them are like 18 and im still bigger than them at 14. I know im not FAT but im not a model figure either.

Models are not models because they are attractive... They are a models because they are a blank canvas for artists to display their "fashion" on. The reason they are cast as models is simply because their faces are symmetrical and photogenic and they are able to work well on the catwalk and with the camera. Plus the clothes that are designed tend to stand out more on a slimmer shape... remember it is all airbrushed anyway.

The fact that the models themselves are in the public eye one day and gone the next shows that they themselves are the product of fashion. And if you really think about it, it is all about what they are wearing and nothing about their own features. It is the media that hype them up as "the beautiful people" so they can make people believe that, if they buy the things the models wear, then they too can be "the beautiful people".

I think you''l also find as you get older that most men prefer a more full figure... it is pure peer pressure that makes them think slimmeris better... it isn't.... personality is everything

There are as many models in the world as there are body types. Just because Cosmo and Glamour magazines only reguarly print stick-thin models because that is what is fashionable at the minute.
For instance, Louise Nerding the presenter of the clothes show, did an experiement on TV, where she starved herself to a size 0 (american size chart), which is roughly a size 4 in the UK. Because of her dieting, she was admitted to hospital.

I am a photographer, and one website that I use to contact models is www.themodelbook.com.
For your peace of mind, go to this website and do a quick search for female models. You will find that every body type is evident, and many of the larger women are alot more attractive than the ones who have all their ribs showing beneath their chests.
Trust me, you don't need to look like a stick to be attractive.

Compare those stick skinny models to other models who are a bit curvy such as adriana lima, or heidi klum or something. Just the fact that we know the names of those models and not the stick figures should tell you something. Everybody likes curves, no one gives a rats as s about girls so skinny that can break from just a hug!
Personally Im a skinny girl with hips and bum, and love it, my guy likes it too.
Don't worry your self sick, you're too young, you have lots of physical and mental growth to experience, Im sure you look great.

im 15 and understand but from the opposite point of view, i hate my body although im not stick thin and still have hips and things i want to be curvier..! being that skinny does not look nice, it looks unhealthy..! at 14 and 15 our bodies are still growing and will change shape as we get older,, look at Kelly Brook she is not stick thin and looks fabulous..! and she is still a model of some sort. stick thin models are making young girls think they have to be thin to be pretty or whatever.. you dont!! you are beautiful in your own way.. just remember guys like a bit if curve..!!

hope this makes you feel better in some way

This is a hard answer to answer because I have a model body... I don't like it though. I'm thin and tall, and have all the features of a model, but honestly, it doesn't make you happy. Sure you get complements every once in a while, but it really doesn't make you happy.

I wish I had more meat on my body. People look at me and question you as to "are you ok?" or "Have you been eating?"

I get so sick of it. I don't look anorexic, but I'm thin, petite.

Be glad you look the way you do!! Looks aren't everything.

I'm not going to lie to you and tell you that I don't find models attractive. However you do have to think about it in terms of their profession. A business woman wheres a suit, a construction worker wears a hard hat, and a model is skinny. You have to feel right in your lifestyle. It's not about being fat, but being healthy, which some models (I'm not saying all) might not be because of their lifestyle. (Realistically though, I like my girls with a little plush.)

So if u are not fat and not skinny, then u are NORMAL or PERFECT! i hate standarts.. Actually im am little bit skinny (its genus) and trust me, i wish to have bigger thighs or but.. But the point is not about how we look... Its about our personality.. And if a guy looks for nice appearance u cany feel secure, cause any moment he can see prettier girl and run after her. The beauty lies inside of us :))
Be smart and u will be pretty!!!!

most of the modeling agencies are run by women and gay men. these are the women that they have chosen to be models. If you look at the women who are in playboy or the ones that are called "supermodels" (the ones men are really looking at too) they are not all "lolly-pops"(stick bodies that make their head look big) they have more normally shaped women's bodies.
