It's not a stupid question. It is hard work, but as you train into it you will generally catch on the processes and the pace of things.
Think about it, how many people work in fast food? Or, have worked in fast food? A lot. You'll do fine.

Many people assume it is easy because they assume only low-skilled workers would work in fast food, or just young high school kids. The truth is, the job is difficult and stressful in many ways. If you are working in a very busy Burger King or MickeyD's, be prepared to work FAST, get yelled at for wrong orders, and be worn out by the end of the day. There is no rest, people will constantly complain that this was wrong, that was wrong, they need more ketchup, etc....Hopefully you will make friends with your co-workers and this will lighten things up but expect to work fast. Hopefully, they will train you well beforehand but this is not always the case, managers can be quite lazy. Oh, and they may make you clean the tables, floor, mop sweep, clean bathrooms. All in all, its not a great job unless it is your absolute last resort. Food service industry jobs generally suck, youre better of being a file clerk, hostess at a rest. or working in a small retail shop.

I've been working at mickey d's for appr. a year and half, best experience of my life, even though it's hard at first, you actually get used to it and then you do it as a pro. I'm a manager here and believe me it has not been easier or i have not been any lazy at my job and i don't plan to be. even though my crew make my time at work easier i always help them out and yes, i still sweep, mop, clean tables and even clean restrooms at times. the pay for me it's great but for the crew it depends, i guess they have to see that you want this and then they give you a raise. so it's all part of life if you don't want to end at mickey d's i recommend that you stay in school and get educated. McDonald's not a bad place to work but it's not the job of your dreams believe me.

Not to mention putting up with customers that come in and share their lousy day with you.
I've never done it, but I bet it's hard. On top of everything else, there's a lot of mundane repetition and you're on your feet all day. I think they should be paid more and that we don't give them enough credit. However, it is "unskilled labor," so things are probably going to stay the same for a while.
I'm just afraid I would get sick of the food wherever I was working.

It's not hard. Of course, things are going to be unfamiliar at first, but you'll get used to everything. Everybody makes mistakes and messes up orders. You'll never get over that, so you just have to learn to not agonize over the thought of making a mistake. You have to learn everything and pay attention to what you're doing. It's not difficult to learn everything...it's very simple things. I'll tell you one thing though...if you work like an employee is supposed to work, it is definitely WORK. Rushes can be stressful, but you also learn to deal with the stress and get faster.

I spent many a summer flipping burgers and frying fries. Yes, it's hard at first, like anything, but it gets easier. You're right - it's called "fast food" because it's fast but it's also got to be good (reasonably) and hot, etc.

You'd get used to it pretty quick. They have screen systems that remind you what the customer ordered. If you do make a mistake then just say sorry and put it right. You don't need a great deal of talent to flip burgers.

I think it is an ideal job for some. If you mess up, don't worry.
No offense, but no one really expects much from someone at a fastfood place. It is afterall minimum wage. You get what you pay for.
