Everyone knows or usually has an idea about asian players. Of course, most of them play games 24/7. Most people always stereotype that Korean (or chinese) gamers are hardcore. Or, when you hear of the word, Asian, you think of someone that is very good at games. Am I right? I mean some people might not think that, but the majority do.

I think being better in a game is becoming much more of a huge sterotype and a craving for more people. Obviously when I say sterotype, I mean asians being good in games. And, that's been in for awhile. But really, what does it take to be asian? You really just have to be good at games, right? Or is it more than that?

I just think that it is kind of sad because someone that I know who is CANADIAN, was playing World of Warcraft and he wanted to become a Chinese Farmer. A chinese farmer is someone that grinds in an area and gets mass gold, usually very fast. Anyway, he went so far as to actually speak asian. I mean, everyone does the "o.o, o_O" signs. He hasn't done it before, and I was fine with it, but when he started forcing it in his messages.. lol. I think that he IS sad because he tries to act everything asian. It's really pathetic for me because he is doing what asians typically do, what they eat, how they act. I mean, jesus christ, he's really just disgracing Asians when he does it. Is there really some kind of fame to try and be asian? -.-

Anyway, my REAL question is: What does it take to define the word Asian in an mmorpg?

It doesnt really matter. i am playing wow on a privat sv and i became a member of the Asian Guild just because i am good. U don't have to act like 1, speak like 1 and pee like 1. If u are good and u just act as yourself u will be more appreciated than pretending to be an asian. If u r good and u have ur own style every1 will adopt it because that will make them think they r good.

Also asians r very helpful in game and usually they protect the newbies.

In my opinion u just have to be urself.

Hope i helped u!

PS By the way i am not Asian. I am Canadian/European.

South Koreans are known for their online game participation, since the large availability of internet cafes in South Korea, plus also the fact Japanese games are shunned 'officially' by the government.

Chinese and Indonesians are also become more known for their online game participation, due their huge population and the large availability of internet cafes in ther countries.

As for asians being good in games.

It's more due the way they work.

The way they work was influenced by a combination of both genetics and communities.

If they only need to fish for 3 fishes, they then will fish for what ever fish they can get, no matter whether it's 10 fishes, 100 fishes, or so on.

If they only need to level up for one day, they then will level up for what ever level they can get, no matter whether it's 5 levels, 10 levels, or so on.

The motto is... 'work till you drop'.

HI,

Are you a asian from singapore? You english seem to be very good.

Not all asians are well, good in games. I'm not.(i'm chinese from singapore but i moved to NZ) I think asians from certain countries are really good in games but singaporeans are always studing or attending a after school class. Koreans can afford to play every day and that makes them good (:
