Last century saw the birth of space exploration. So what will this century offer to us? Possibly colonization?

For a long time before cars were invented people spent a great deal of time trying to go faster by breeding better horses.

While mankind has found a way to get off our planet right now using our current methods exploring space requires quite a lot of effort and expenses. Hopefully we will be able to invent new methods of space flight, life support and what else is needed to start colonizing space. We already have most of what is needed it is just scattered around in different places. No one is really organizing and pushing for space colonization (yet!) But by the end of the century... I will be disappointed if man is not living outside of earth by then.

I think it depends on propulsion methods. The chemical rockets used in the last century are marginal in effect and extremely dangerous. If and when a rocket engine is developed that can sustain a 1 g thrust for a week, then we'll be able to colonize the Solar System. Such an engine might possibly be developed using current physics, but might be helped along with new physics.

I'd say it's almost impossible to tell. 100 years ago, people still thought there was a society of living things on Mars! 100 years at our current pace is a LOOONG time.

We could have FTL travel in that time, who knows.

i would say that with our planet and our moon, the moon will move away from the earth and the earths orbit will slow down and the days will be longer and i say about in 2090 the earth will stop rotating because the moon is so far away from the earth. and i say about that time we will have 30 hour days
