account (with the other half of the money) how long will it take to clear? will i have to wait for the check to clear before i get my full balance?

This is called check kiting, it is illegal and the banks will spot it in about 2 seconds. Stop smoking the maryjane so much, sell something to raise the cash and start being more responsible about your finances

Since the Check 21 regulations were put in place last year, check now clear electronically, in most cases within 24 hours.

It depends on the bank and his standing with the bank. I know for Citibank if you deposit it at a branch it will show the amount in his available balance as soon as the check is deposited.

It has not clearded but any checks that come in for that will not bounce.

Usually takes 5-7 buisness days. Depends on the bank. Some banks can do it 1-2 days.

depends on how long he has had his account open for if hes in good standing and stuff it should clear in 24 hours since its a "in-state check"
