its not so much that we can't forgive the cheater, but that we are so afraid of investing again, and maybe just getting hurt by this person all over again, as we never know if they love us, and wanted to come back to us because of us or because the other person they loved dumped them. depends on the level of remorse, that the cheater is willing to express, depends on how far the cheater is willing to go to regain the lost trust. i do believe it all lies with the one who cheated and did the injustice in the first place. if i were cheated on it would depend if my mate felt remorse, and could show me by their actions and not just their words that they were sincere. much of the time it involves the ego, and self worth, and once cheated on u just don't feel desirable anymore to the person who cheated on u. u no longer feel loved and wanted by this person, has all to do with the person's self concept who was done the injustice. if the cheater can convince the cheated on they are still loved and desired than maybe there is a chance, if both parties know it will be a long hard road back.

It totally depends on the situation and the relationship. There is no way to know how someone will react to something until confronted with it. Right now I can say that I would forgive, but trust? that has to be built back - doesn't automatically come back after the cheating has been stopped.

Depends on a few things... Like if I caught him or if he just confessed out of being remorseful, and how long he had been cheating and number of times.
I am quick to say that I would leave my husband if he cheated, but in reality some factors would play a roll in my decision.
If you are wondering if a relationship can work out in general after one has cheated, my answer is yes. But it takes a whole lot of work and whole lot of time to heal the wounds. Both parties have to really express their hopes of why they are willing to continue the relationship and their expectations for it to work. It takes real open lines of communication and real effort.
Best of luck to you.

Well that all depends on the person and how forgiving you really are. I mean you would have to look long and hard at yourself to see If you even could . Me i believe in second chances but it is up to him if he could deal with the way i would be i mean it will take a while to trust someone again . but it might be possible.

It has happenned to me before, and it took several years
for me to forgive, but I never felt the same about him after that
Cheating changes everything, you cant look at the person,
feel for the person, trust them, or love the same way ever
its just impossible....

My father had an affair and my mother took him back. She says that she has forgiven him but has a hard time forgetting. They have been together 38 years. I think it depends on the people involved and how they handle things.

Perhaps this could happen, but it would take a lot of hard work. Both parites would have to be completely committed to making the relationship work.
