I'm assuming that you are talking about Mount Vernon, Washington since you posted this in the Seattle forum. Mount Vernon is about 60 miles north of Seattle right off of I-5. It's about 1 to 1.5 hours drive depending on traffice. Here is the town's website:

In Virginia. It's about 15 miles or so south of Washington D.C. and maybe 5 or so miles south of Old Town Alexandria.

Many states have a city named Mount Vernon. There is on in Illinois just off I-57 and I-64.

Are you talking about Mount Vernon as in George Washington's historical home? If that's the case, it's in Virginia about 20-30 minutes south of Washington, D.C. on I-95.
