It was about dime sized, and it was a light brown or perhaps a light pink. I'm 19-1/2 weeks, and I didn't get this with my first child.

I have a doctor's appointment in a week and a half. Is this something that can wait until then, or is this something I should take care of right away?

It was only that little spot, by the way. There was no pain, and I felt the baby moving quite a bit last night.

I'm 17 weeks and have had a similar thing happen on 2 occasions pink blood after sex that I only noticed after wiping once on each occasion. I've read in the "what to expect when you're expecting" book that this kind of thing is normal. The entire pelvic area is engorged with extra blood during pregnancy and the cervix itself is also more sensitive and during this time. Positions with deep penetration such as woman on top or rear entry are most likely to cause after sex spotting. It doesnt sound like anything to worry much about but if you're very concerned, just call the doctor. That's what I do and it always helps calm my fears and worries to speak with the midwife or nurse.

uner the circumstances you descibe, it can wait, but make sure you write down the date any time this happens. Make sure to tell your doctor at the next visit. If it happens again before the next visit, call and talk to the nurse at your docs office. They will decide if you need to see the doc sooner.

My dr told me that spotting after sex is normal and that as long as you don't soak a pad you're fine. The cervix is very vascular during pregnancy and is easily irritated. You should also tell your mate to avoid deep penetration 2.

I have heard this happen before, maybe just call your doctor and see what they say.
