my friend brought a 2gb kingston memory stick..it works fine usually but when it comes to using it on her laptop it ask to install something. it came with no discs or anything and she had this problem with mine on her laptop also...any help would be gr8

if you are using a version of windows earlier than XP, then try searching on google the OS name example "Win 2000" followed by the string "USB Mass Storage Driver". This is a generic driver but works with pretty much any USB drive. Hope this helps

Similar problem. My Kingston works perfectly when you boot your machine with it inserted. If you plug it in while you are already logged in, the flash drive is available to some apps - not to others. Minor annoyance.

That's because some computers don't have the driver to recognize the flash drive.

If your using Win XP home/pro... then you don't need drivers..

for older Operating systems Win 98se....you need drivers...

what version of the o/s is she running ...if its older than windows xp ......she may well need to install drivers as it will not be " plug and play "
