i'm a pessimistic person whos given up on love. but when someone is down or asks if theres such a thing as true love i try to make them believe that anything is possible and that love conquers all. stuff like that. it's not that i don't believe those things. i just don't believe they apply to me. does that make me a liar though? cause i feel like one.

I don't think you are a liar. You are trying to give people hope, now only if you tried it on yourself you may be much happier.

You're speaking the truth to your friends with the assumption that it doesn't apply to you. There is such a thing as people outsmarting themselves. Some day you will find someone and when you do, look back on this, laugh and tell yourself ok so you were wrong.

You sound a little distressed. That doesn't surprise me since you have said you have given up on love. Love is a unique perception and is diverse and intricate. All said, people just prefer to love rather than sit back and declare renouncement of it. So a word goes for you to pep you up - Pick up those bits of your heart if they are shattered, for those bits will rejoin soon, healing themselves and your pain.

Anyway, coming to your question, telling someone that true love does exist doesn't make you a lier. So go ahead and declare that the TRUE LOVE DOES EXIST !

not at all. Just because you given up hope for you to find love doesn't mean you will give up hope for everyone else. Like you said, you feel it doesn't apply to you and that's okay. A good friend always knows how to cheer up another and i looks like you are on the right track.

Anne, You could be struck by a lighting bolt of love today. But your not gonna feel it with that attidude. Please believe, anything is possible, everything changes. What your telling is the truth, what you believe for yourself is not. When you love yourself and are happy and complete, trust me a guy will see that and be attracted to it. Believe! Bob

I know what you mean. I give everyone the "love conquers all" routine, but inside, I don't trust love at all. Most people believe in love, so why should I damper their spirits just because I don't believe in it? I don't feel bad for it.

If you don't believe it, then you shouldn't say it. It doesn't make you a liar. You just haven't met that special someone yet. Or maybe you haven't open yourself up to let anyone in.

i dont think it makes you a liar cause the only reason i think you would tell people that is cause deep down inside you do believe that and either you have been really hurt or it just hasn't happened to you yet

Not a liar; but a hyprocrite.

How can you convince someone to believe something; that you don;t believe yourself?

I think deep down; you really do believe it!
