In most cases it just makes it harder because you dont know exactly when you're ovulating.
I had irregular periods before my miscarriage, they leveled out after that. But I certainly was able to get pregnant. with irregular periods, AND the pull out method. Its certainly not impossible.

There are so many factors that affect the answer. I assume you are thinking of getting pregnant? Did you take bc to regulate your periods? How old were you? How long have you been on bc? How old are you now? Have you stopped taking bc and for how long? Do fertility issues run in your family? Do you have any other symptoms (heavy cramps, painful urination or sex, heavy bleeding, mood swings, etc)?
My initial reaction is that you took bc to regulate your periods, probably in your teens-early 20s. Your irregularity could have been attributed to such a thing and the easiest course for your doctor at the time was to give you bc since you were not trying to become pregnant. If you are now, and you're still irregular, you should see an OB/GYN or fertility specialist to determine what is making you irregular if you're in a hurry to get pregnant or to see if you have a fertility issue that needs to be taken care of.
Good luck!

I think so. Before I got pregnant, I got my period about 4 times a year and I was on birth control and it still wasn't regulating itself. Well I ended up getting pregnant while on birth control so as long as you don't have a serious problem, you should be able to conceive!
