Sky luminance and colors
The color of the sky is a result of diffuse sky radiation and the fact that air is actually a very transparent purple color[1]. On a sunny day the Earth sky usually looks as a blue gradient — dark in the zenith, light near the horizon (due to Rayleigh scattering). It turns orange and red during sunrise and sunset, and becomes black at night.
Sky luminance distribution models have been recommended by CIE (the International Lighting Commission) for the design of daylighting schemes. Recent developments relate to “all sky models” for modelling sky luminance under weather conditions ranging from clear sky to overcast sky

Sunlight gets dispersed when it comes into contact with our atmosphere. Our eyes are only sensitive to a short bit of the spectrum, that made of the seven colours ROYGBIV. How much a colour spreads on dispersion depends on its wavelength; the greater it is the more the colour spreads. Considering this, violet spreads the most and therefore should be the colour that dominates the sky. But our eyes are sensitive most to the yellow-light blue bit of the visible spectrum, and since blue is the one with the highest wavelength in this range, we see blue.

sky may be blue, because of the reflection from the ocean and the moon, but astronauts see the sky and the milky way as the color "beige"... which is why the "MILKY WAY' .. of course we cant see this because we are on earth, but if you ever have a chance to travel to the moon, mars, you will that the universe is beige

becuz of the differnt types of gasses and other stuff in the air. and it has alot of nitrogen in the air and nitrogen burns blue. and the sun gives just enough heat to turn the nitrogen in the air blue. and if that answer doesnt work just go with becuz god made it that way :)
