I'm assuming you have either a Cable or DSL modem and that your computers are connected via Ethernet.

To connect the printer you can either connect it to one computer and enable printer sharing, but there's a lot of onfiguration that has to go along with that. Otherwise you need a network capable printer or a USB to Ethernet print server.

connect the 2 pc's across the network (wireless or cabled)

install and connect the printer as normal on one pc and then in that pc's printer settings page select to share the printer.

now anybody who selects to print on the second pc will have their print request sent across the network and printed out from the pc with the printer on it.

this ill not interupt anything on the first pc.

Best way is to connect the printer to computer1 and enable sharing. You can then see it from computer2.

The cheapest / simplest is to buy a printer switch - here is one for less than £12. http://www.maplin.co.uk/Home.aspx?C=GKW&U=TA&T=BRAND&gclid=CIqbxNjqyYkCFRU6XgodT1hJNA
