Hi never put yourself down, just because you are dyslexic, you should talk to your tutors at college about your dyslexia, and they might be able to put you with professional people in this field that can help, remember you are only a faliure if you dont try at any thing, you can only try your best, please dont put yourself down, look for the people that can help you, being dyslexic doesnt mean that you are thick at all, loads of people have it remember, so you are not on your own, and loads of people have become very sucessfull people even though they have the problem, take care

Hun, you are so far from being dumb. I don't have Dyslexia but I miss spell words, I can't remember a dang thing, and miss words all the time (reading and writing). You may have a touch of ADD. Talk to your doc. Don't be so hard on yourself. You are only 18...I am 28 and do this stuff. it happens.

Being Dyslexic does not make you Thick.
I am slightly Dyslexic and I had a good job in a bank for 12 years before leaving to have kids.
My Brother is very dyslexic and he has worked his way up through the building trade, and he is now a site manager.
You just need to find the right career path for you. Go to college and go a course in someing practical.

don't be so hard on yourself. being dyslexic doesn't mean you're thick at all. you've made it to college without anyone giving you extra support which means you can't be thick.
with a dyslexia diagnosis you can get support to help you with your work and find different ways to remember to spell words and learn things that you can do.
make sure you get the support that's out there, it can really help (and you can apply for things like laptops and computer software if they'd help you - especially if you go on to university).
good luck x

I don't think you are thick. I think you just underestimate your own abilities.
I would even bet you never felt like this before youtook the dyslexia test.
I suggest that instead of focusing on the negatives, focus on what you feel you can do well.
I have posted a link below, you may be able to find support here, please don't get down on yourself. Dyslexia is not the end of the world, although it may feel like that now.

Listen to your required books on tape, to help yourself out.
Do not hold onto some diagnosis and make that you. You can always study harder and work at doing better.
If you believe you can't do something then you can't, do positive self talk. Know that you can do it. Be positive.

hi there. I can read really well and remember things, but alas I am NOT cute! Believe me, i would swop with you if i could...
Also, everybody misses words when reading, it is absolutely normal. as for art, I have trouble drawing breath sometimes but I can still enjoy looking at it - this is as important as doing the picture, because if nobody enjoys the whole thing may as well not exist.
So enjoy being cute and get all the enjoyment you can!
Cheers, Steve.
