We're way off. If time machines were possible, someone from the future would have made one by now and would have come back to visit us.

We are all time machines. However, we travel in the fourth dimension at one speed and in one direction only.

It still seems an impossible technology but it is teorically possible to see the past time if you can have a speed greater than light.

I also heard that if you are able to travel faster than light, you can see the past. But I read in a book that no one can travel faster than light. Actually, its about Einstein. When Einstein asked his teacher that if he could travel at the same speed as light, can he see at his side light? His teacher said yes, but later on, Einstein proved that if you attempt to travel as fast as light, light will still be faster. Its like saying, you are traveling X m/s, then light travels X+Y m/s.As you can see light's speed will still be greater by Y.Well, that's according to the book I read.
