I know you are suppose to look a person in their eyes...but?

.But if you realize this person is ABUSIVE ...and you are standing there...CAN YOU JUST LOOK AT THEIR MOUTH...because that is where you are most comfortable.with HIM..??? UNTIL YOU CAN GET OUT OF THERE???and do not make eye contact with him if you have to be in his presence???

I have the same problem. It's not with abusive people, it's with anyone. I just don't feel comfortable looking people in their eyes.
I look at their mouths.

Why would you stay there anyway ? Get away from him before it gets physical .
