I've a worse feeling that was never told by words but felt through actions... Guess it would be in your form: "I love you but I'm just not enough for you"
Feel this, a girl loved someone so much who loved her back and knew she's one of a kind AND FOR THIS...'thinking she was too much for him'...he never had confidence in himself how to paste her his feelings!! so he never did rightly; or mistakingly did!!
Till the 'he don't want me' feeling started to slip into her heart and thus she left..
Later on, and I mean after her recover; he came back saying what she dreamed to hear from him all the way through their relationship!!
ANYWAY, I don't like to be one of those answerers who tell stories and skip the Questioner question!!
I'd choose : I love you, but you're just not enough
Cause that's a stab!! "both heart and pride wise"
One last thing, I checked some of your Qs; why I've the feeling your words paste an inner agony?
I maybe dreaming!! :) Forgive me, I'm one of those perfectionist starry analysts persons...or humbly 'trying to be' ;)

In order to hate someone you have to care for them, so it wouldn't be that. I love you but you're just not enough, still means they care and they really don't want to hurt you. So I would have to say that it would hurt worse to hear "I don't care about you anymore".

I love you, but you are not enough. It means no matter what you so, you can't measure up to that person's expectations.
However, "I hate you" could be said in the heat of passion and anger .
"I don't care about you anymore" is brutal, but not as bad as "you are just not enough".

well saying that i hate you or i dont care about you sometimes can be a lie,ppl most of the time just say it because they are really up set with that person, because of the certain something you did to them but saying i love you but your just not enough is way to harsh, Thats bascially saying that your not worth sh!t to them.

certainly not "I hate you" - because it implies that there are still feelings, emotions, passion etc. You have to care about someone to some extent to "hate" them. I'd say it's "I don't care about you anymore".

I will never forget the night I was drunk and had a cigarette in my hand (It was not mine, I don't smoke, I was just holding it for my friend who was answering her cell) and my dad saw me and called me a disappointment.
that seriously hurts....
Someone saying they hate me doesn't bother me anymore...if you hate me chances are I've hated you for a while anyway.

I love you but you're just not enough. It defies love as I know it.
