Meaning how able are you to find a solution to a problem, any kind of problem? I use MacGyver as an example because I just rigged a fan that was broken with something I had laying around and now it works again.......

Did you know that you can make a whole wardrobe out of nothing but duct tape, cable wire and string?

Try it at home.

I am the anti- MacGyver. I have to have the right parts and the right application or I'm not a happy camper. I will not use panty hose in place of a fan belt or ground up tube socks to make a bomb.

Back in the days before McGiver came along and I was a poor struggling student I used to refer to myself as "the master of make due" because of my ability to fix stuff using materials that I had on hand and keep things working long beyond their natural life expectancy.

I guess that's why I went into an engineering related field.

One time I needed to open a bottle of wine, but found I didn't own a corkscrew.

So I managed with a screw, screwdriver, and pliers.
