Not really. Your IQ is an intelligence test. You can take it at age 17 and you can take it at age 35. The results will be virtually identical. The IQ test measures your ability to comprehend and reason. Those don't change. They may fluctuate slightly, but they won't go from an IQ of 112 one day to an IQ of 145 the next time.
The poster who mentioned a score variance from one year to the next is right. There are outside factors that may affect your performance on a test. But that does NOT change your IQ.

IQ test performance can be changed by a number of factors, having a clear mind, eating properly, getting enough sleep.
I took an IQ test one year and scored 13 points higher than when I took a similar test a year later.
For people that erroneously believe that your IQ increases with education and age, IQ stands for intelligence quotient. It is a quotient because the score is standardized by your age. Yes, a 3 year old can have a higher IQ than you, but that certainly does not mean he knows more than you. It just means that on a test of cognitive skills he scored better when compared to other 3 year olds than you did compared to people your own age.

OMG - of course you can raise your IQ ... do you think a baby is no more intelligent after growing 10, 15, 20 years? What is the cut-off age of intelligence gained then if you can't raise it?! :o) It's quite comical that people think you can't raise your intelligence ... I took an IQ test and scored 127. I took some self-help courses and a few months later took another test and it was 132. Then after more courses, my IQ was 134 - different IQ tests too! So, what IS true is that "you never stop learning" and "you're never too old to learn something new" so keep striving to raise that intelligence quotient and ignore the psycho-babble that you're just an animal and "can't"!

Yes, it is recognized by most professionals in the field that your IQ can be raised (or can fall) as much as 15% of it's original value in your lifetime.
So if you're 'IQ' is 130 you could test as high as 150 with rigerous training and preparation, and as low as 110 if you neglect brain activities and go into the test in poor conditions.

IQ is based on things that you don't need to study for, just practical solutions. if you took several IQ tests, the scores could definitely fluctuate, but if you took the average of them, odds are they will average out to what you should score.
