Takeing pseudoephedrine (found in Sudafed, Actifed) research shows that it can decrease milk supply by as much as 24%.
Here is a website that list some common drugs and how safe they are rated for lactating moms. Add it to your favorites! http://www.kellymom.com/health/meds/aap-approved-meds.html
And as always, consult with your doc before taking anything--most will have alist of "safe" meds they can give you to keep so you don't have to call everytime you get sick--if not--suggest it!
HTH! Hope you're feeling better soon!

Just realize whatever you take, you will give your kids.
Take lots of vitamins (Vit C, A, B Complex and it huge amounts) and other natural remedies so that these can only help your kids and won't have any side effects when it hits their system.
There is an arsenal of homeopathic medicine available to fight colds and flus. According to the book Homeopathy: Medicine for the 21st Century, by Dana Ullman, these remedies include: Allium cepa (onion), Euphrasia (eyebright), Natrum mur (salt), Aconite (monkshood), Belladonna, Bryonia (wild hops), and Phosphorus (phosphorus).
Also, especially for flus: Oscillococcinum, Gelsemium (yellow jasmine), Bryonia, Rhus tox, and Eupatorium perfoliatum (boneset).
Upon recovery, the author recommends China (cinchona bark), Gelsemium, Sulphur (sulphur), Phosphoricum acidum (phosphoric acid), Cadmium (cadmium), or Avena sativa (oat).

There are more options of meds to take when breastfeeding than there is when pregnant. Just give your Doc a quick call and she/he will let you know whats best to take. I know you can take Regular strength sudafed and tylenol. But if you call the doctor, she might give you some other and better options. I know you can also take Robitussin for cough if you have one. Halls lozenges as well are okay.

You should never take anything without asking your doctor, not a bunch of strangers on Yahoo!

ETA:
Sudafed is safe to take.....but it can also harm your milk supply, so only take it if you really need it.
