I have been meaning to upgrade my photoshop for a long time...but never have. Will installing elements provide me with any add ins or anything...or should I just return it or sell it on ebay. It is the newest version of elements...I think.

You can install it and it won't affect how Photoshop works.
Being that the version of PS you have is pretty ancient (the current version, CS2 is actaully 9), if they got you Elements 4 or 5, there will be numerous things in Elements that just weren't around back in PS6.
Now that is not to say that Elements is better, but use both to their advantage.
A couple of big things in Elements that you won't find in PS 6 are a native RAW editor and also the ability to create 'albums' to manage your photographic library.
I use Elements myself for the organizational tools and then CS2 for editing. I would hold off on upgrading your PS 6 quite yet, I think we are getting close to a new release - perhaps CS3...

We use Photoshop CS2 daily here at my printing company, so Im not too familiar with Elements.
But Im guessing Elements might have some "neat" features like "Red Eye Removal", that PS 6.0 doesnt have.
But overall, PS 6.0 is still more useful than Elements to a knowledgeable PS user.

adobe photoshop is a very usefull and fun program. you can make posters, cards, funny pics. you can edit people and things in and out of pictures. if you have a weppage or myspace it is great for changing the resolution of the photo so it will load faster. if you have pictures that the lighting is weird you can fix it in a second. and it has tons of cool effects to play with. i think you should instal it.
