I do not want to swear by this, but I recall a program on tv about the coral sea snake. As far as I know it only takes up to 30 seconds to die from its bite. On the other hand, the dragon lizard has so much poison in its mouth that once he bit a creature, there is no way out for that creature. It is a grizzly death for the poor animal being bitten by the dragon. So perhaps it is the most dangerous as regards poison.

The poison arrow frog and certain salamanders would have to top most people's list of "The World's Most Poisonous Animals." Just two micrograms of toxin from the poison arrow frog is enough to kill a human. A "microgram" is a very small amount. The ink in the period at the end of this sentence will weigh around six micrograms

The poison arrow frog. A poisonous animal carries harmful chemicals called toxins. Usually, these toxins are used for defense, and are stored in the skin or in special glands. Compare these creatures to venomous animals, which deliver their toxins by stinging, stabbing, or biting.

Just two micrograms of toxin from the poison arrow frog is enough to kill a human.

A "microgram" is a very small amount. The ink in the period at the end of a sentence weighs around six micrograms!

Never mind animals, how much death could a little bitty insect really cause?
Discounting those caused by wars and accidents, the malaria-carrying Anopheles mosquito has been responsible for 50 % of all human deaths since the Stone Age.
In the United States, however, the deadliest insect is the common bee.
Each year bees snuff out 40 people!

Probably the Sea Scorpion (a fish) or a type of sea snail (Cone Shells). Sea snakes are deadly too, more deadly than land snakes (anything that eats fish, and is slow, need a fast acting poison so that the fish cannot get away). There is an octopus which is deadly too.

------------------edit------------
Actually, most species of puffer fish are extremely poisonous, but are only dangerous if you eat them. So, of course, people eat them (for the excitement, I suppose).

=======
...The eyes and internal organs of most puffer fish are highly toxic, but nevertheless the meat is considered a delicacy in Japan and Korea. The name Fugu is used both for the fish that are eaten and for their meat. The Korean term for this fish is "boh-guh" fish....

...Tetrodotoxin is a powerful neurotoxin that can cause death in nearly 60% of the humans that ingest it. A human only has to ingest a few milligrams for a fatal reaction to the toxin to occur. Once consumed the toxin blocks the sodium channels in the nervous tissues, ultimately paralyzing the muscle tissue. Curiously, the toxin seems not to be synthesized by the fish itself, but by bacteria associated with the fish. The fish has a mutation in its own sodium channels which makes it resistant to the effect of the toxin....
