This morning I went to strat my van and the key would not turn. I discovered that my steering wheel is not lock. (My mother had trouble with her old car and just moved the steering wheel to lock it before she started her car.) I've tried turning the wheel but it will not lock. It also will not shift gears. (I tried hoping that it would help the wheels move freely so i could lock the wheel.) What can i do?

If the wheels are ****** right or left and there's a lot of tension on the steering wheel when you try to turn it, then it still sounds like the steering wheel lock tension needs to be released by pulling in the opposite direction on the steering wheel as you rotate the key. It can be difficult at times! Of course make certain you have the right key and jiggle the key somewhat to help.

yup, and even tougher if you are on a slope .try standing on the brake and pushing it into park, then wiggling the wheel, good luck
