contact the british embassy in the country you are getting married in and they will help you.
for the marrage to be recognised in britain you will need the british embassy or an authorised translator to translate the wedding certificate into english.

Here or abroad the pleasures and problems are the same. Most well known tour operators have Wedding Organisers for the type of wedding you want and you just have to judge when speaking with them if you consider you can entrust your wedding plans to them. They should know all the regulations and required paper work of the country where you are being married. I know lots of couple who have been married abroad and have had fairytale weddings. You could get some hitches along the way but have you ever known a wedding taking place here that all has ran smoothly from the word Go? Wishing you a wonderful wedding and a happy future.

Marriage is a state of mind not a fact of law ,,,, Certificates and stuff like that are required by mans law and is for man not the two people that enter into this marriage ,,,,, Marriage is a spiritual and mental state ,,,,You could lose the rings or a fire could destroy the certificate but that does't change your marital status what so ever ,,,, Mans laws have gotten him into trouble too many times in the past and the masses just take for granted that if it's the law then it must be right ,,,, They don't give it a second thought as to whether the law is right or not ,,,, The marriage has already taken place in the minds of the two principles involved before the actual ceremony anyway or the ceremony wouldn't take place ,,,, The certificate and rings are what's required by man not God ,,,, The first marriage betweem man and woman was sacred vows made with each other before God ,,,, They didn't require anything else ,,,, They did it themselves between themselves ,,,, People today can do the same thing ,,,, As long as they exchange sacred vows between each other and live up to what they've sworn to then that's all it talkes ,,,, So if I were in your place I wouldn't put just too much importance on what man and his laws require ,,,, Because he was the law giver ,,,, I think it was Moses that was under pressure from the masses to establish and endorse the law that people could divorce ,,,, But Gods law says that there is no such thing as divorce so who's right here and who's wrong ,,,, Here again because of the hardness in mans heart a law was established by man to satisfy his wants and help him to feel blameless in over throwing Gods law where marriage is concerned ,,,, I mention this only as an example as to how man can hurt himself with his own laws ,,,, He has always thought his own laws carry more authority than Gods ,,,, He will have a rude awakening when he meets his maker on judgment day ,,,, Anyway back to your situation ,,,, I wouldn't put too much store in what people think ,,,,Man is too puffed up with himself and places too much importance and gravity on himself ,,,, The two of you will be married because you chose to be and man has nothing to say about it ,,,, You shouldn't live your life according to anyone elses dictates or opinions anyway ,,,,, No one can live your life for you and no one can make decisions for you either ,,,, People have a bad habbit of sticking their nose in where it doesn't belong ,,,, So do what's in your heart and forget about man and his opinions and laws ,,,, Unless you are taking food off of someones table or money out of his pockets or damaging his property or sticking your nose in where it doesn't belong or hurting someone else in any way then you aren't doing anything wrong ,,,, Do what you want to do and don't let man and his laws or his opinions bother you or dictcate what you do ,,,, Good luck ,,,, Yoda told you this ,,,

Lots of people get married abroad these days, as long as you have the right paperwork and the marriage certificate your marriage will be recognised in the UK. If you mean how will people know that you have got married, then put a wedding picture and details of your wedding in your local paper.

Providing you have a certificate to state that you are married, it doesn't matter where you have your wedding. If there is a certificate, a proper authenticated one, then it is legal in this country. If you are worried, you could always check with the Home Office and then later have a blessing in this country for all those who couldn't make it to the actual ceremony.

if you are getting married abroad, how would you get married without a ceremony. Reguardless of how small, there has to be an exchange of rings and vows, and a paper to sign.

It doesn't matter where you get married. If its a legal marriage where you got married its recognized also in any other country. Update your passport in your home country. (her)
