If you pay attention to most commercials that are geared towards women, you'll notice that we are made to feel guilty for not looking good enough. The entire beauty industry relies on making us feel that we aren't beautiful enough; that we need to try harder. Women's magazines focus on the problems we need to solve about our appearance, and constantly find new body issues to point out. This is why very few women can be happy with themselves: because everything we see compares us with other people and tells us that we should be ashamed of how we look. Even women who do feel confident about their appearance are unlikely to say so, because it's become rude to say that you are happy with yourself...if you are with a group of friends who are insecure and talk about their feelings, it is almost an insult to them to not mention something you hate about your own body. Pretty strange, but being confident is seen as being cocky within groups of women. I am yet to meet a woman who will come out and say "I think I'm beautiful", because she is just asking to be picked apart and have all her flaws exposed.

They don't see what we see. They've probably got major insecurity issues, problems at home, or pay too much attention to what the media describes as being the "perfect" height, weight, or whatever. Or maybe they were never told, and there's also those women who are beautiful and flaunt it continuously too. hope this helps.

everyone is beautiful in their own way. if they were raised right then their parents would have always told them that they are beautiful if not on the outside they are in the inside...

It's either positive attitude or self denial. I'm just glad I have no deformities and no haunch back. :p :) But really I'm glad I have a good head, cause looks won't get you anywhere; it may get you a free martini from the bartender ... :P :) Dirty martini anyone? :P :)

it took me so long to believe I was beautiful because my mother always put me down. She pointed out little things about me that I learned to hate.
