When I was young I believed anything was possible. I made the mistake of allowing a friend to talk me out of this “ridiculous” belief when I was about 12. Now at 27 I am back to believing that nothing is impossible. What are your thoughts on this? Are you a nothing is impossible person or are do you think there are limitations?

I believe Man has his limitations; such that I cannot travel back in time and warn my sister not to get in that car that will end her life. But, I do believe God has that ability. Although, I do not believe God would ever use that ability to alter that part of history, or any part of history.

And, I believe that the fact that you do believe that will only allow more good things happen to you, so that it will further your belief that you can make anything happen. Being positive brings positive results. Keep up that belief, and don't let it diminish.

There is nothing that is impossible. To go back to what others have said. World peace? Yes this is possible. God flooded the earth and drowned the sinners, thus creating world peace. The world can end and that would create world peace. The world comes to an end at some point. It is described in Revelations, since no one can truly know if the writings of the bible are true, the bible suggest that world peace is possible. It is possible for a female to get a female pregnant, it happens everyday. There are female ob/gyn's that artifically inseminate other females all day, thus impregnating a female, with the correct tools. Jumping off a building is possible, you need a safety net at the bottom to catch you just like in the circus and you will survive. Bringing the dead back to life, didn't Jesus do this? Can't he heal those who are dying? We hear of miracles everyday, how is this NOT possible? I think the only limitations are the ones we put on ourselves. Anything is possible, but certain steps may need to happen to make it completely possible. I totally agree that anything is possible. I think it has more to do with how much a person believes and wants it to be possible also. Many say believe in God and all things are possible. I think not only do you have to believe in God or at least believe in something, you must truly believe in yourself.

Absolutely anything is possible. Just to rebute some of the things listed here, like brining the dead back to life, there have been some pretty damn interesting studies in re-animation (ie. resurrecting something that was considered "dead"). Time travel is also theoretically possible. Everything is truly possible if humans believe in it enough to find a reason to pursue the solution. If the US government decided they wanted to make money grow on trees, no doubt someone would figure out a way to make that happen. Nothing is impossible. Nothing.

It's a point of view thing. Science says there are very few things that are impossible. Breathing in a vacuum, for example. But science is based on our understanding of reality.

Our reality that we experience is really just a recreation of the stimulus given us by the real world. We do not precieve reality directly. We precieve our body's interpretation of reality. Most of the information we get, we discard because it's too much to process and we don't 'need' it to function. (think rainman counting a box of toothpicks, we can all do that, but our body discards the 'useless' or too hard to process, information.)

So we don't know that what we see, hear, taste, touch, feel is really the way we see it. Everyone's perception IS different from eachothers and changes on a daily basis. (If you drink more caffine today than yesterday the color balance in your eyes will shift- you will see colors differently. Though you probably won't notice it. Ask any custom photographic printer.)

So the question is- Do YOU believe that reality is static, unchanging, or that it's malleable? Even science has moved more towards the belief that reality is 'changable.' (quantum theories... schrodinger's cat's a great example.)

I prefer to believe that reality is malleable and with enough hard work and belief in myself, someday I'll be able to levitate my cigarettes from accross the table and not have to get up to get them.

My family has always been able to 'feel' things we shouldn't, we all see ghosts upon occasion, telepathy(though sporatic) has occurred, even healing.

I'm either crazy, or reality and 'what's possible' is easier and bigger than people think.

I think the question is what reality do you want to live in?

I can see a Zen-like aspect to what you are saying. If I were to say to you "it's impossible for man to fly without the aid of some kind of device like an airplane or a hanglider." But then you could argue from a place of perhaps philosophical or metaphysical beliefs that anything that happens in your mind is 'real.' How can we possibly understand the vast intricacies of the mind? So if I were to do a vivid visualization with self-hypnosis where I saw myself flying - is that real? Some could argue that it is.

So yes - I do believe anything is possible.

Obviously some things are impossible. Anything which presents a self contradiction is clearly impossible. Evolution (as the cause of life as we know it) is impossible. Mathematicians conclude that anything that is less likely than one time in 10- 31st power can reasonably be defined as "impossible"

I belive that if you want something and if you work hard enuff and want this paticular thing bad enuff...then i belive that Anything is possible. Impossible things is when you give up on the idea.

If you put your mind to it and you are determined...then you can move mountains and make the impossible....possible. As far as " limitations " go.......that depends entirly on the person.

Good Luck in 2007

Trust in God, and nothing is impossible, except for death. If God promise's he can give eternal life, what makes you think he is a limited power? He has helped people in all ways, and has brought the dead back to life, in miracles by his hand, and by guiding those who heal others.

Nothing is impossible. Nothing at all. I think that everything you set out to do can be accomplished with the right amount of determination.

I think many things are possible but I don't think everything is possible - like it is impossible for me to get a female pregnant (because i am a girl too)
