it WAS a Constitutional Republic that was destroyed by the Republicans and Democrats who formed an imperfect union called "Democracy" which is a fancy term for "The Biggest Gang Makes The Rules"

We are (were) a Constitutional Republic.
That is we have a Republican form of government wherein we elect people to represent us in government and that government is bound by the chains of a constitution to what they can do.
Now wer are more of a Socialistic Democracy. Today we more directly elect our politicians and they look more to polls of how to vote than to the Constitution. Also many States have initiatives on the ballot, bypassing the legislative bodies. We have many social programs that have made our country more socialistic; public education, public welfare, public transportation, social security, medicare. etc.
For better or for worse that is how I see it.

The form of government originally, and still today, is a republic. Today, it is popularly referred to as a "representative democracy," but constitutionally speaking, it is still a republic.

Evolve into an enemy of the public of which they fleece & victimize! Its way past the time to end Representative Government! Legal citizen majority rule & control now we have the communication technology to have it!
