They are the only players on the field that can use their hands so they wear a different color shirt to make it easy for the referee to see that he is a legal player using is hands.

To distinguish them from the rest of the players. One reason is probably because they are allowed to handle the ball (with their hands) inside the penalty box. It would be easier for players, fans, and the officials to spot them and make correct calls.

So it's very obvious to everyone (mainly the ref) they are the goalkeeper and can use their hands inside the penalty area.

So that the teams cant switch keepers in the middle of a match. and also for the referees so they know who can use their hands.

it so that they can be indenfied so if they were in the same color they would look the same and they confuse ppl. i play soccer trust me.
