I could be wrong looking at all the other Answers but I have never known anybody to get Freeview working through a in door Ariel, I live in Derby and as far as know we have a good reception. I would try borrowing a box of someone before you buy one to see if it works, although the weather can very much affect your reception indoor, one moment it can be good the next, its all gone!!

I use one along with a "booster" which you can get from argos for 10 - 15 pounds or less.
