If you were given legal notice that your wages were going to be garnished, then you need to get an attorney because it will be difficult to stop the garnishments without an attorney. You can then have the garnishments stopped, modified, refunded, or even the possibility of having the debt disappearing (depending on your situation). Do not wait because your financial picture will soon get out of hand.

Move to a state that does not allow garnishments for delinquent debts. TX is one.

SARAH,
UNFORTUNATELY, A WAGE GARNISHMENT IS A LEGALLY-BINDING INSTRUMENT AND IT IS SOMETHING A LAWYER CAN BEST ADVISE YOU ON.
IF YOU CAN'T AGREE ON A SOLUTION TALK TO THE PARTIES TO WHOM YOU OWE THE BILL AND EXPLAIN THE SITUATION YOU'RE IN SO THAT AN AMICABLE FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENT CAN BE MADE.

You had the opportunity to fight this before it went to garnishee. You need to address the court that ordered the garnishing - and that may be too late. Good Luck

As long as you are working which I am assuming you must... they will do it. You can not stop it.. Pay your bills next time or arrage something with whom you owe money it is always better to call who you owe and work out something a payment plan or otherwise than have that happen.

I suggest you get a second job and buy health insurance just in case you get sick again.
