Why do people assume that because a person has been in a ==CRIMINAL==ly insane asylum that they are a bad person?
Your answer is within the question... Most people assume that when a person does something bad, that person is bad. Thinking about it, insane people cannot be responsible, though.

I can't begin to imagine what might give them that impression.
Maybe it's the whole "mentally-imbalanced to the point of being a threat to society" idea that throws them off and makes them jaded.
Personally, I try to host banquets for the criminally-insane at least twice a year, though the last one ended in three fires and a chandelier being eaten by one of the guests, but otherwise it was a good outing.

Because society deems a crime as something "bad" so when somebody is sent to a CRIMinally insane asylum people assume it was for a crime, which is "bad".

Well because most people are prejudice. I have been in a mental hospital just visiting a friend of mine and people think i am crazy for being his friend. He is still an awesome person. People just think that everybody that goes to a mental hospital is stark raving mad. these people who think that, are morons.
