Does anyone know something that can repel monkies from eating plants from gardens?

If someone could tell me a simple low-tech solution for stopping monkies. Its for a small group of people devoted to feeding less fortunate children in africa and they have problems with monkies on thier small farm.

train some dogs to chase these monkeys away or can try small firecrackers with loud bangs to scare them away.

you can repel monkies from eating plants from gardens by giving them bannanas.

Sounds like a .22 rifle would work well.
