Just type in their name in quotes and without.
Ex. "Harry Smith" and Harry Smith
within Google. and you'll have to go through each one, but you can find things through there. Also if you know another piece of information about them like the last place they lived, you can type that into google as well.
If you want to know financial stuff, and marriages and so on -- you will have to pay a service to find that stuff out for you.

I would say Myspace... You wont be able to find a lot of people but if you register under your school you might find some old classmates
