Captain Miles Keough of a troop in Custer's 7th Cavalry died along with the other 255 troopers in the Battle of the Little Big Horn, or as the Indians termed it, the Battle of the Greasy Grass.

Captain Keough always rode a black gelding named Comanche, and this horse was the only survivor, other than a Crow scout named Curly who had escaped after dressing his hair as a Sioux warrior.

Comanche lived out his days in leisure and recognition at Fort Riley, Kansas's, military reservation.

Bucarest was Alexander's horse. I don't know how long he rode him , but Bucarest saw some major battles.
