I receieved a $75.00 gift card to JCPennys this Christmas, but to be honest, that's the last thing I need. I'm really interested in buying myself a new digital camera, and would love to swap my card for money or another card from another vendor. I've tried the website "cardavenue.com" but have been waiting with my card listed for about three weeks without any successful trades. Today I signed up with "tradegiftcardsonline.com" and "swapagift.com," but both seem pretty slow and unpopular. Does anyone have any suggestions?

NO. There isn't. I don't work at Hollister but I do know they won't give you cash. If you are willing to take a small loss, you can sell them to someone else for less than face value. Sell a $20 card for $15 cash. You can ask your friends if they have a gift card from someplace that the may want to trade with you. You could park outside Hollister and ask some people going in if they can help you out. They might pay for their purchase with your card and give you the cash. Don't give them the card without getting the cash first. They may want you to go with them to the register if they think the card may be stolen and have no value. It's a reasonable suspicion for them. Those are the options I see. If you know someone having a birthday soon, you can regift it to them if you can't get rid of it. Just be sure it isn't going to expire or lose some of it's value before they are able to use it. Don't give it to them if they don't shop at Hollister though. Good luck.

I would suggest ebay or craigslist. You open yourself to a lot more people than those trading sites for GC, no one really uses those. Just go to Craigslist, say you will sell it for between 65 and 70 and someone will snatch it up, guaranteed.

Sell it on ebay. If your worried about not getting as much as you want you can put a reserved amount on there. If you want at least $65 put that as your reserve price and when people bid on it they wont win it unless they meet your price.

Actually, you can sell it directly to Swapgift.com - they're the only site I know for this. Otherwise, you're going to have to sell it on your own (which they allow you to do as well and its $4 total).

I WORK AT A STORE AND WE DO HAVE GIFT CARDS, BUT I KNOW WE CAN'T EXCHANGE THEM FOR MONEY. SORRY. AND I REALLY WOULDN'T TRUST ANY COMPANY ON LINE, UNLESS YOU HAVE DEALT WITH THEM BEFORE.
