I seriously doubt it. I think they would be most pleased.

At the time the founding fathers were alive, it was not at all given that the US form of government was a viable way to run a country. There were deep divisions about how the nation should be run. Nothereastern shipping merchants were constantly at odds with more agrarian parts of the country. Small states argued with larger states. Slavery was already looming as a divisive issue.

The central government was saddled with debt from the Revolutionary War. We had no navy to protect our coasts from possible invasion or even to protect our merchant shipping to other countries.

We were surrounded by major European powers who were at times hostile: England, Spain, and France all had territories that bordered us. No one knew much about what lay to the West at all - fronteir towns were constantly in violent conflict with Native Americans.

Under the Articles of Confereation, the central government was so weak it could barely function. People actually doubted whether the central government should be allowed to collect taxes. Twice, George Washington and John Adams had to call out tropps to put down open rebilions over taxes (see links below).

Within a few decades, we fought an undeclared war with France (see link to Quasi War below) and a war with England that led to the destruction of much of our capital.

Whatever you think about times today, the early period of US histrory was far more turbulent, dangerous, and uncertain. Our very survival was very much at question.

But we did survive, and we have emboldened and inspired scores of other countries, such as France and Mexico, to cast off the yoke of oppression. We have directly assisted others in doing the same, such as Iraq, Afhghanastan, France (twice), Grenada, China,...

Today, though not perfect nor omnipotent, we are the most powerful nation of the world. We have made a bigger impact on world ideas and culture than any other modern nation. We are envied by people everywhere (even if they happen to disagree with us on some points).

We have achieved things (such as spreading to the Pacific shores, acquiring overseas territories, and accomplishing a landing on the moon) that the Founding Fathers could barely dream about. If the founding fathers could see us know they would be very proud. The only way they would have a heart attack is if they were so overwhelmingly stunned at how successful has been their experiment in democratic self governance.

they would drop dead in shock also when our forfathers made the constitution and such they assumed the PEOPLE would have a revolution every 20 to 30 years so the government doesnt become corrupt but there never was a revolution and never will be, the mexicans will take over this country and the american people will sit back and accept it just like they accept everything else just last night armed mexicans came across the border attacks national guardsmen the guardsmen retreated and the mexicans went back across the border so officially mexicans attacked our troops and what has been done??? not a damn thing...

I'm guessing they'd be pleased with the progress we've made in many areas. However, when it comes to the government and how its being currently ran, well let s just say they would want to have a serious chat with Mr Bush. And after having conferred with Mr Bush, they would be shaking there heads in utter disbelief at what has happened to the Constitution.

Most likely. Especially in the "Freedom of Religion" debate. They were religious people who believed that we should be encouraged to worship whatever our way is and not discouraged by the government for worship.

Also, I think Franklin would have a heart attack if he saw just how weak France really is....

Yes they would. The religious fanatics have taken over. Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin were open minded rational men. Unlike those who run the country today.

Since most of them were avid slave owners I think they would be overwhelmed at all the potential slaves in different varieties walking around that they could scoop up for themselves. So yes,I do think they would die of an heart attack.

There extremely is largely one God, human beings merely worship Him in diverse techniques. do not assume many Christians to rework to Islam. i'm particular you recommend nicely, yet I help your good to worship as you wish, as long as you promote the non violent frame of mind it truly is on the very heart of your faith. Have a most suitable day.

our gov't has a series of checks and balances. It is an ever changing, living thing. The people need to stay involved in gov't, stay informed and make their voices heard each election day. I think the founding fathers would see their democratic model was correct.

Yes they would. They never envisioned the ACLU or liberal judges perverting the constitution like they have. They are destroying our country. Maybe this is why we were suppose to have the right to bare arms so we could fight these tyrants. Hmmm, what a thought, taking our country back from liberal whacko judges and the ACLU freaks.

Thomas Jefferson fought the Barbary Pirates. He probably would've said,"Oh no,not the Muslims again! Hand me my musket!!"
