I think it depends on the couple. My friend's parents have been married 35 yrs and they've always had a very active sex life and I also know of a newlywed couple who have already lost interest after just a few months.

It's pretty much case by case.

I dont know but my brother & his wife have been together for 26 years, and they both now sleep in seperate rooms....They still love one another very much, but they just want their space, I reckon.... Its actually spose' to be a secret among family members, but he never gets on this site , and I didn't mention names.... So, the secret's still safe!! Its okay, to have a break like they are.... It doesn't mean you love eachother any less, either. My kids grandparents on their father's side, slept in the same bedroom until their grandpa died first, but seperate beds, and then their grandma passed shortly after..... They were still in-love, until they died.... So, I assume by having seperate beds, is when the Love-making slows way down, you know..... And its okay..... To be honest, I'm single, I love it, and I only want a "Companion" once my two teens are raised-up, in 4 & 6 years! And only when their secure, have their own jobs, bank accounts, cars and apartments, and so on!! Then, and only then will I begin dating, and only with someone who wants "NO Commitments", to just go out to eat with, or an event with, that sort of thing... Seperate homes, and the whole enchilada!!! I'm done with marriage!! I've been married 3 times, and I just want a male companion , now..... ANYWAY...... Just talk to your man, maybe about seperate beds, see how he feels about that... good-luck, to you! Smile!!!

What do you consider slowing down? I have been married 12 years and we try to do at least once a week. It really depends on the person and other factors like kids.

I got married in July and up until October when my husband left for Iraq, we were doing it at least twice a day. When he gets back, it will be the same.

I think after the newness of the relationship wears off and the couple is tired from working and all that other stuff then they just don't feel like it.
