The linking may help but if you do not have good content you wont get listed anyway.
You need back links to your site as well for this to work.
You must satisfy the engines crawlers to get it listed fast and with a good ranking.
There is more to it than meets the eye.
Its a combination of 4 major things that will get you listed and be good enough to keep that top ten spot.
If you want anymore info send me an e-mail
uskiwi5@yahoo.com
I can point you in the right direction to both paid and free listings
I hope that helps
Best of luck

Even with submitting your site to the search engines in 24 hours that does not mean you will get a good placement.
There are ways to get the search engines to pick up up quick, but again no guarantee that you will get a good SE spot.

Look at the restaurant business... try applying at an upscale place to be a food runner. Many of our runners come in at 5:30 or 6:00 and leave after the last guest is served; usually shortly after 10:30. The money (in Atlanta COL) is decent.

You don't want to submit your site, you want the search engines to find you for best results. If you want your site to be indexed quickly, get some high quality links pointing to your site.

submitting to 1000's of search engines does not help you at all. Try doing good link exchanges and submitting to good quality directories
