I get the whole "the guy is talented thing," but this is a college university paying this guy millions of dollars to coach a football team. Where is this college's priorities? How many scholarships could have been funded with a fraction of this guys salary? Is Alabama saying that their football program is most important? I know my opinion isn't shared by many people, but this is ridiculus. I want UA to have a winning team as well...I just think that this is going a little too far. I am a Bama fan, but this is ridiculus. I would much rather see just a fraction of these millions used for education purposes...I mean, this is a college after all.

It is a state university and should be putting education first. No doubt tuition fees will go up to pay for this. They seem to go up every year. At this rate a state university will soon be beyond the reach of many people. You will have to get a football scholarship to be able to attend.

I think 4m per year is extreme but it will be up to the Alabama supporters to make their voices heard. If Alabama gets crushed by Auburn this coming season then we will see the reaction.
